I'm Shea, the Yoga Instructor here at Maroon Village. I'm originally from Michigan, now residing in Chicago for 12 years and counting. My background includes over 15 years supporting nonprofit youth programming. Most recently, I was tasked with overseeing After School Matters programming on the south side of Chicago.
I am a certified RYT ® 200 (yes, I have completed over 200 hours of training) and I teach all ages and backgrounds from youth to adults. You can find me at The Nautilus School, Healthy Hood Chicago, The Alter Chicago, and of course, Maroon Village.
I also enjoy writing for my blog, while working slowly on a self-narrative holistic healing workbook for those interested in learning more about my journey and what practices have helped me along my path! Best of all, I have been able to maintain all of these initiatives, while taking care of two toddlers at home.
We value each experience and take lessons with us as we go. In turn, we have come to appreciate the depths of the relationships we have built and continue to build. It is not by chance that we have made it this far. It is because of commitment and faith.
We believe in ourselves, each other and all people. There is so much work to be done and this is exactly where we are supposed to be. On the frontlines. Digging deep and planting seeds. There is intention and purpose behind everything we do.
