My Background

I'm Rich, the Performance Specialist here at Maroon Village. I co-founded this organization with my wife, Shea. We are a husband and wife team who finally took the leap to leave our 9-5 careers and pursue our dream of serving Chicago youth and surrounding communities.

Before my career as a personal trainer, I played professional football for the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks. I was drafted 3rd round via Penn State where I graduated with a degree in economics – I also finished with 3rd team All American honors.

My professional football career further extends internationally to Germany where I signed with Kiel Hurricanes as a player and defensive coach for their junior team. I helped the Kiel Hurricanes win their first German Bowl and coached their junior team to an undefeated season.

I retired shortly after, and began my career as a personal trainer with the idea of a smooth transition into the professional world. I worked two years at LA Boxing (now UFC Gym) and Fitness Formula Clubs before starting my own company with a socially driven mission.

My Passion

In my 10+ years of performance training, I have worked with over 1,000 student athletes throughout the Chicagoland area. The beginnings of Maroon Village was just a simple concept. But our commitment to empower ourselves through our own personal struggles turned that concept into a lifelong journey. Maroon Village is our shared journey.
